Hi there!
In case you missed the news from my newsletter and over on Facebook, our online shop is now open under the name The Quilting Shed.
While we have physically moved to our new location, the shop part is not open for customer in store shopping. Partly because we have to build it!
We bought a new house in a GREAT location with plans to build the shop on. The coronavirus lockdown came along just as we were talking to builders and planners so all that came to a halt. When it became apparent this was going to go on for a while, we shifted plans and moved the household. Fortunately, the new house has a space for a temporary setup. I’ve arranged everything for optimal picking and storing for fulfilling online orders and worked on finishing the website and listing as many items we had as possible.
Our old site had a lot of stock listed, but not all the fabrics. Emma and I both worked really hard for about 3 weeks cataloguing everything, taking pictures, and updating multiple spreadsheets.
We got all the fabric listed, some after the soft launch, and we are still listing items. Some thread is going to take for-freaking-ever.
I did get my longarm back up, did some maintenance and straightened the canvas leaders. I’ve managed to do one and a half quilts since then. Partly because orders keep me pretty busy.
The quilting queue is still closed for now. I had said it may open the end of May but that doesn’t look likely. Whenever it does reopen, there will be changes, as I can only do a small number of quilts per week.
If you aren’t signed up for my newsletter please use the box in the sidebar to the right and fill in the information. That’s the best way to stay in the loop.
