This thing I love about this quilt is that not only was it a mystery quilt, the original pattern was just designed to be scrappy. Take any scrappy quilt pattern, use all holiday fabrics and there you have it – holiday quilt!
This was also a HUGE quilt. Some of the squares were on point, which means bias edges. It’s really hard to keep a quilt straight when some block edges are bias. I discovered the quilt wasn’t square the nearer I got to the bottom, but managed to quilt it flat.
When the owner picked it up, I mentioned that I tried to square it up but went for flat – and she said that was perfectly fine, since she knew it wasn’t square and had a devil of a time trying to get it that way! She was super happy it was FLAT and quilted, in her words, beautifully. She loved the red thread we chose.
I had to move my table and stand on a chair to get this shot.
